About the Job
Windwave is seeking a Fiber Splicer to support fiber network construction and deployment projects. This role is responsible for performing high-quality fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure network performance and reliability.
This is a field-based position working closely with construction and operations teams on active projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform fiber optic splicing (single fiber and ribbon).
- Conduct testing using OTDR, power meters, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret splice diagrams, prints, and network designs.
- Troubleshoot fiber issues and resolve signal loss or connectivity problems.
- Prepare and maintain accurate splice documentation and test results.
- Install, prep, and organize fiber in closures, cabinets, and panels.
- Maintain a safe and organized job site.
- Coordinate with crews and supervisors to meet project timelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of fiber splicing experience.
- Experience with OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret fiber prints and splice diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record.
- Must pass drug screen and background check.
*Willing to train the right individual.
Work Environment:
Field-based role working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Travel may be required depending on project needs. Overtime available based on project schedules.
